It’s been a whole minute!  I will keep this short and sweet as I have some flowers and letters to paint.  Since I last wrote, I have been working on a little bit of everything…2013 is definitely off to a booming start for us.  As much as I am working towards creating everyday stationery product, weddings are definitely keeping us busy and it has been a little bit of a struggle to work on my other projects.  So every chance I do get to work on cards and stationery concepts, I DO!!!

I am happy to say that so far all the weddings for this Spring and Fall  will have some form of painted floral or illustrated element.  It makes me happy to say that I get to paint flowers and custom illustrations for a living.  That’s pretty sweet right?! Below, I have included a lovely snapshot of some of our recent projects.  I had the lovely opportunity to create a custom illustration inspired by illustrations from 1920s/1930s for a roaring wedding in Boston.

I really enjoy starting with each project using only fresh ingredients (pencil, paper, and lots of paint)!  I’m thankful for those I have had the opportunity to create for and look forward to seeing what is in store for The Stationery Bakery.

Good day  We are happy to say that things have been busy and fun in the studio lately!  Thanks for supporting this growing stationery business.  I wanted to write a post providing a little detail about what exactly is going on and because I have failed to post lately !  First off, weddings have continued to keep us busy and we LOVE our clients, each one is different and it is so much fun to come up with a beautiful concept for wedding invitations.  Second…we are working towards building our brand and jumping into the stationery industry more seriously (cards, note sets, note pads…beautiful paper stuff)!  What does this mean?  We are busy painting, drawing, and coming up with fun product to be sold in stores…wahoo!

In order for me to do so, I have amazing helpers.  Jaclynn is helping manage our bridal accounts and is my go to gal for any and all questions pertaining to marketing and sales.  Samantha is our sweet graphic design intern, she has been helping with production, design, addressing and STUNNING lettering.  Seriously, she’s awesome!  Then there is the fabulous James, he is working on new designs for The Stationery Bakery using his mad typography and illustration skills.  Of course-my sweet husband, Andrew, is overseeing finances and working on getting our new letterpress up and running…oh yeah, you heard correct–LETTERPRESS!  Lastly and most importantly, our dogs Jolie and Emma are keeping things interesting at the studio, lately they have been slacking and seem to sleep when there’s lots of work to be done!!

Lastly, we are also working on getting a new website so that one can easily search by categories.  I have included some of my favorite pictures taken lately at the studio.

Recently at The Stationery Bakery, we have been working closely with Sweet Sunday Events by creating delicious and creative paper goods for beautifully styled shoots.  The latest shoot was just featured on Ruffled blog…oh yeah  Katy with Sweet Sunday provided us with a palette of colors, textures and a general feel of typography she wanted for the shoot, and I ran with it!  I created a paper band that I hand cut with an exacto knife, I even added some hand cut details on the place cards to tie this paper cut element in multiple spots.  Sweet Sunday Events styled the shoot by providing beautiful furniture, flowers and lovely paper installations.  The sweet cake was provided by Paige’s Bakehouse. Caroline Joy did a beautiful job of capturing all the textures and details that made the shoot so sophisticated.  The models are gorgeous, aren’t they?  They are represented by A Premium Blend of Talent.  The beautiful gown was provided by Melange bridal.  Please enjoy a few of the photos below, but to see more- go to Ruffled to see the complete set of photos!
